Day 2 of 50: I’m inspired by Belize-born British composer, Errollyn Wallen, and her song, “Daedalus,” which was featured in BBC One’s “One Night” drama.
Listening to “Daedalus,” I remember that he was the father of Icarus who flew too close to the sun… Daedalus who watched his son tumble into the sea, lost forever. I am struck by the haunting lyrics, “Is this the life you would’ve hoped for… died for… wished for… killed for? (© Errollyn Wallen). Her words move me to reflect upon my own life and the relationships I have with loved ones. What a mix of love and loss.
