“I am a world-builder. I create worlds in which women are safe and respected, celebrated for their courage and creativity. As a Chinese-American woman, I am keen on cultivating spaces that amplify the stories, contributions, and impact of Asian women – both herstorical and contemporary – through art, music, and storytelling. ”

I am a world-builder.
I create worlds in which women are safe and respected, celebrated for their courage and creativity. As a Chinese-American woman, I am keen on cultivating spaces that amplify the stories, contributions, and impact of Asian women – both historical and contemporary – through art, music, and storytelling. I do this by weaving together research on various disciplines, including folklore, history, and musicology, with reflections of my own experiences to create a better future.
My work responds to the following questions:
What does a “true home” – a fulfilled sense of belonging – look like for Asian women?
What elements are necessary to cultivate this space/s so that Asian women can reach above the stars, overcome the impossible, and push beyond societal expectations?
How do we create these spaces where Asian women are recognized as powerful forces of change and transformation?
